Every year in October the capital city of Berlin is illuminated during the Festival of Lights. This year is the 10th anniversary and the historical monuments and main sightseeing spots are glowing in different colours and designs starting 10th October 2014 till 19th October 2014.
Several light and artistic productions are being reflected on the monuments and landmarks of Berlin for ten days, such as: the Berlin Cathedral, the Brandenburg Gate, the radio tower and many more. The art work that is being reflected on the buildings are created by local and international artists who get the perfect opportunity to show their talents and spread its beauty all over the city. Each art piece is being shown for around ten seconds on the building until they change to the next design, so it is a remarkable way for visitors and inhabitants from all over the world to walk around this extraordinary city and just being taken away by its beauty.
Obviously many special events are taken place in those ten days and as many tourists from all over the world are attracted to visit the metropolis, Berlin offers them exceptional LightSeeing Tours where they can choose between taking a simple walking tour through the highlights of the festival or rather have the advantage of going by bus or on a breathtaking boat tour to enjoy the night.
As it is all about imposing art, Berlin also offers many different kinds of events, such as photography workshops, neon workshops, charity events and open house at selected buildings. Even for Berliners themselves the Festival of Lights opens up new perspectives to the city as they see the every-day monuments in a completely different light. Everyone can join, the only requirement is: Go in the dark!
